I am Research Fellow in Economic and Social Affairs at the Jacques Delors Institute, where I work on research projects related to the European economic governance, European employment and social policies.
In May 2013, I sucessfully defended by PhD in Economics at the DEFAP Graduate School in Public Economics, in Milan with a thesis in the political economy of international organisations in the context of financing for development. During PhD studies, I carried out study visits at the University of Nottingham and at Bocconi University, whilst during the MSc in Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Florence I was exhange student at the University of Zaragoza. I specialized on the economics of the public sector, economic development, development and social affairs.
From August 2013 to July 2015, I was Academic Assistant at the European Economic Studies Department of the College of Europe in Bruges. There, my primary duty was the coordination of the activities of the European Economic Integration and Business specialisation and assistantship to professors in several disciplines: internal market, EU regulation, EU macroeconomics for business, political economy of the crisis.
Before joining the College of Europe, I worked as consultant on public finances and social innovation at the Council of Europe, Social Cohesion Division in Strasbourg, and as teaching assistant in macroeconomics at Bocconi University in Milan.
In 2008, right after graduation, I was employed in a bank of the BNP Paribas Group specialised on credit for households and I had two noteworthy internships which had a great impact on my professional development. In 2007, in the framework of the MAE CRUI Programme I was at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York and in 2009, I was at the Governance and Public Administration Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa.
Among the awards and grants I received, I am particularly proud of the ex-aequo Best Thesis Prize “TESI PA 2008” for works on frontier topics in Public Administration, awarded by Prof. Franco Bassanini. I am also grateful to the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia that selected my profile for the Progetto Professionalità Fellowship in 2012.
